No, it doesn't stop us, but you should first get a quote, via telephone or our online form. After that, send just your hard drive from the laptop with the recovery key (any computer repair service will be able to remove it for you in minutes). We don't take on soldered storage, so if you are unsure whether your drive is soldered, call us first. We image the encrypted volume first and open the copy rather than the original, which matters when your files are regulated.
The four-bay NAS in the spare room has stopped. What do I post?
First ask for a quote either via the webform or phone, then send all disks (if they can be removed) individually labelled by their bay number; otherwise send the entire unit in its enclosure. The unit should not be allowed to attempt self-repair, as this is when real damage occurs.
How much is it, and at what point will I know?
Diagnosis free of charge, then a single fixed price quotation will follow. Cards/sticks start at £250, a single drive costs £300, recorders cost £400, multi-drive systems from £500; all prices plus VAT.
