Portslade data recovery. Two places with one name, one bench.
Portslade is two separate communities with the one name: the original settlement inland to the north (the village) and Portslade-by-Sea along the seafront (Copperas Gap prior to being formed into an urban district in 1898). This part by the sea also includes the eastern basin of Shoreham Port and the industrial centre of Brighton and Hove as described in the records. We get most of our deliveries from this part.

BN41 is half in Adur and half in the city. Does that change anything?
No. Although the postcode spans across two districts and is classified as having "Brighton" as a post town versus "Portslade", the pricing structure and route to the workbench are the same whether you reside on one side or the other of this boundary.
What do I do with a controller card out of a machine?
Remove the storage device from whatever it was attached to, place it within an anti-static bag contained within a solid container, and note what specific machine and slot it originated from. Get a quote, by phone or with the form, before you post it. There are two types of tooling used to read these types of devices: Rusolut and PC-3000. Disk imagers are not used to read them.
Can you read the disk out of our yard's own recorder?
Normally. First get a quote for the price of that service either via telephone, or using the form; instead of sending us your hard drive recorder, please send us the individual hard disk(s) from which the data was recorded, and state what type of recording system produced the information on those disks. Also, a server or RAID array will be treated similarly, i.e. we will receive them as separate hard disks identified by their "bay" number, while a network attached storage device (NAS) may also be sent as separate disks where possible; however, if the NAS cannot have its disks removed, it will need to be sent to us complete, including the entire enclosure and associated cabling and power supply. An external hard disk drive unit will be treated in this manner also and will include all necessary cabling and power supplies within its parcel.
What does a Portslade job cost?
There’s nothing to pay for us to look at it, and the quote will be fixed and written prior to opening up anything. The price for a card or a stick is from £250 upwards, the cost of one drive is £300, a recorder costs £400, and a multi-disk system starts from £500 plus VAT on all items.
