Data recovery in Lancing. BN15 crosses a boundary; the bench does not move.
Lancing is a village and civil parish of 27,933 people at the 2021 census, one of only three parishes in the whole of Adur along with Coombes and Sompting. Its business park stands on the site of the railway carriage and wagon works built between 1908 and 1912, which came to an end in 1965. What is made and stored there now is what reaches our bench.

What Lancing sends the bench.
Something else? Run the triage →| The problem as described | Why it's a local regular | First thing we do |
|---|---|---|
| A controller out of a kitchen production line | Furniture and kitchen making here runs on embedded storage, not on PCs | Bag it, box it, note the machine |
| A food distributor's ERP server | Orders, routes and temperature logs that have to be produced months later | We read it; your IT rebuilds |
| The college archive on an ageing external | Lancing College keeps records that go back a good deal further than its hardware | Imaged first, then opened |
| A video-analysis card from a training session | Brighton & Hove Albion's training facilities at Mash Barn Lane; the county FA at Culver Road | Image first, always |
| A builder's laptop from the A259 corridor | Quotes, drawings and site photographs, not one of them copied | Switch it off, then send it |
How a Lancing job runs.
In a client's own words.
All nine reviews →I am a teacher at Lancing College and I dropped my Toshiba laptop that contained 5 years of teaching resources and was broken beyond repair. All I had to do was drop it in — they removed the HDD and worked on the data recovery. I'm pleased to report they were able to pull all the data from the hard drive and I had it all back in my possession within 3 days. Thanks for your hard work.
Katie Hastings · LancingLancing questions, answered straight.
BN15 covers Lancing, Coombes and Sompting. Is all of that included?
All of it. The postcode crosses a district boundary between Adur and Worthing, which matters a great deal to planners and not at all to a parcel. Same route to the bench, same price throughout.
A machine on the business park has stopped. What do we send?
The disk or the card, never the machine around it. Note the model, and say what was running when it stopped. If it is a RAID set, every disk comes bare with its bay position marked.
Can you read a card out of a video-analysis camera?
Usually. Take it out and write nothing further to it — the commonest reason a card cannot be read is that recording simply carried on afterwards. Cards are read on Rusolut and flash tooling.
What will it cost, and what is paid when?
Diagnosis is free and the written figure is agreed before we start. It is £250 upwards for a card or a stick, £300 for one drive, £400 for a recorder and £500 upwards for multi-disk work, with VAT on top of each. Where a drive must be opened, half is asked at the outset.
